Meet Professor Ufodike
Prof. Ufodike is a Professor and the Charlotte and Walter Buchanan Faculty Fellow in the Department of Engineering Technology & Industrial Distribution at Texas A&M University. His multidisciplinary background includes a Ph.D. in Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering, a Master’s in Process Engineering, a Bachelor’s in Materials and Metallurgical Engineering, and an MBA.
As the founder of the Professor Ufodike Research Group (PURG), Prof. Ufodike has spearheaded research in theoretical and computational materials science and advanced manufacturing.
Asides being a researcher, he is a visionary educator. His mission is to integrate future manufacturing research into education, preparing a diverse and globally competitive STEM workforce. As a faculty advisor to student organizations and founder of initiatives like PrintLearn, he actively contributes to fostering innovation through diverse perspectives.
Beyond academia, Prof. Ufodike is a trailblazer in promoting diversity and inclusion within the computation, engineering, and additive manufacturing community. As the founder of “Blacks in Additive Manufacturing (BiAM)” and PrintLearn, his dedication to fostering innovation through diverse perspectives is evident.
Blacks in Advanced-Additive Manufacturing (BiAM)
Blacks in Advanced-Additive Manufacturing (BiAM) is a non-profit organization founded by Professor Chukwuzubelu Ufodike committed to promoting, supporting, and inspiring individuals from underrepresented communities within the realm of Advanced Manufacturing (AM) and Additive Manufacturing Technology. BiAM strives to foster awareness, increase participation, and cultivate ownership in these transformative industries, aiming to create a more inclusive and diverse manufacturing ecosystem.

The mission of BiAM is to elevate engagement and foster inclusivity within the Advanced and Additive Manufacturing sectors. Asides being an Educational Consultant and Career Coach, I am an experienced manufacturing and distribution professional with research areas in AI-Enhanced Adaptive Manufacturing for Precision Engineering.
As a Professor in the Engineering Technology and Industrial Distribution Department, with a joint appointment in the Mechanical Engineering Department at Texas A&M University, I am also the Director of the Digital Manufacturing and Distribution Lab (DMD-LAB) at Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station.
